I didn’t like that you had to put the food through the top where the solar light is. It would’ve been nicer if the top screwed off. Otherwise the birdfeeder is beautifulSo pretty during the day or at night! Easy to fill and came with an extra solar light. Would definitely buy this again for myself or as a gift. This is a very attractive bird feeder, looks nice in the day but especially beautiful at night withany bright colors. The only strike against it is that it's very difficult to refill. You have to unscrew the assembly where it's hung and the threads are not that much above the clearance so it's hard to get back together again. Fortunately the bin stores a lot of seed so refilling does not need to be done frequently.Birds empty it very quickly but they throw most of the seed on the ground.Wow! This bird feeder is a work of art and made to last a long time. Other reviewers mentioned that it was difficult to fill, but I used a 100 N-1 Super Tote and had no problem whatsoever. In order to get the beautiful colors at night, the feeder can only be filled halfway, but it's so worth it just to see it glow in my window at night. By the way, the feeder has two small solar panels, and both are removable for filling. I really appreciate the spare solar panel that the manufacturer included in the box the feeder came in!OK, it is a contradiction. This bird feeder is very well built. It looks really great! I will convert it to an art piece. Want art? Then buy it. Want a bird feeder? Keep looking. The flaw is simply that when you unscrew the top knob/circle to take off the lid and fill, the bar that attaches to the feeder attaches at the bottom. Therefore when you fill the lovely feeder, you totally block out easy access to the threaded hole. On a different brand of feeder I have, the top knob simply threads onto the bar when is attached to the bottom and comes up to the top, through the lid/roof, to the knob. Easy to see. Easy to connect. This one is unusable. My work-around was to remove the glass housing and glue a very substantial plastic straw (meant for long-term use, not disposable) to the bottom over the threaded hole. It comes to the top, above the seed (do not over-fill) and then I can thread the bar easily. But that is really a hard work around. Also, you will be wise to glue (after attaching the straw or pipe) the glass housing to the base. It is not attached and can easily fall out when refilling. Generally speaking it is beautifully made, a great price, and without major work does not work! It's a bird feeder. Even as beautiful are the birds that visit my feeder are, we have to be smarter than them. For now my feeder works. I hope the straw holds as I glued the glass housing, so re-attaching the housing will not be possible. Oh, when the feeder is full the LED lights go nowhere. Only when it is empty can you see the lights . . . Thank you, JosephThe feeder is very pleasing to the eye. Birds were attracted in no time. I had blue jays, doves, warblers, and cardinals checking it out in less than two days after hanging; they were feeding on the Wagner's seed I got. I placed the feeder away from trees so that squirrels couldn't reach it and so far, so good. At night it lights up allowing you to see through the level of seed that is left over. The bad side is replenishing it back because the access slot is too small. But the seeds do remain dry. I am pleased with the results I've got and I recommend this product. I live on the coast, so I foresee it will rust quickly. I will keep an eye on it and update on durability.
