The first thing for suit is quality of fabric and then the draw strings. This has both. The only issue is they are limited in size. Like any suit get one size above. I love this suit but almost never have my size 34 thats why I gave it 4 stars.Perfect for swimming laps or lounging by the pool. I swim laps 3-4 times a week and these are go to swim briefs. I’ve tried other swim briefs by Speedo but these seem to be the most comfortable and fit the best. I wear size medium briefs (underwear) and purchase these in size 34. (I’m 6’ and about 170 lbs.) I’ve read other reviews and some people do not like the front/rear seam, but I think I prefer it. I’ve also have the other swim briefs that have the logo on the rear and no seem, they are comfortable too but I find the seat is cut a little different and tends to ride up little, so I still prefer these. Only complaint is that the do not hold up to the chlorine too well, they fade and stretch out, so I’ve been through quite a few pair over the years. They dry quick and help with tan lines too.As the “Speedo” stigma fades in time hopefully more guys will give them a try because they are all around great swimwear. Perfect for swimming laps, recreational swimming, lounging by the pool or on the beach. My girlfriend use to make fun of them but has grown to really like them. If your on the fence, give swim briefs a try and wear them with confidence!Last note: the red ones seem to be tighter than the blues or grey. Not sure why.Very comfortable to wear.My first swim brief all those years ago was a sapphire Speedo Core Solid brief, size 30. As with my underwear collection, everything changed after a couple of years being an avid swimmer, when I found out there was something smaller to wear. At 16, I was introduced to Speedo's Fitness Solar brief, and it was love at first sight, from the instant I slipped it on, it was even more thrilling, if that were possible, than the first time I wore Core Solid. The Solar looked and felt like bikini bottoms! What's great about the Solar is that it has a higher leg cut, freeing me to swim faster. Also much easier and quicker to slip on and off (standard briefs are a scuba suit, by comparison.) It has a pouch up front, and with my package placed securely inside it, freeing me to not have to make the occasional adjustments that might arise with pouch-less briefs. It has a tremendously good selection of colors, but my one issue for many years was Solar was not available in sapphire, or any bright shade of blue. I was happy to find out earlier this year, at long last, there is now Turkish Sea blue! Spitting image of sapphire! My swim briefs collection feels more complete than it ever has.Overall, I can say with confidence that the Solar is my all time favorite, due to it being smaller in size, the higher leg cut, the variety of colors, the redesigned drawstring (especially noticeable on the newer ones), and most of all the pouch. Each of these things make it look and feel like a bikini, and I still feel such a thrill putting them on! Even more so as I approach my 30th Bday, thrilled I'm eating right and getting the best exercise in the world, wearing the same size I was at the beginning of my swimmer's journey! So everyone out there, whether at the pool, or on a faraway beach, wear this to look and swim your best! This was my first time trying Speedo swim briefs. The Speedo website sizing algorithm recommended a 30 and I wear a 32 in just about everything. When it comes to underwear briefs I can sometimes go to a 34 depending on brand. I ordered the 1 inch Solar in a 32 and while it wasn't officially painful it was not particularly comfortable. I got a 34 and a 36 just to be safe and I plan to keep both of those. The 34 is very snug and I actually find the 36 to be the most comfortable in the waist. So I seriously cannot imagine why Speedo recommended a 30 unless competitive swimmers size down and just tolerate the discomfort. I am only a recreational swimmer so I believe I will be happy with the 34 and 36 and keeping both. If they end up stretching out I will probably be glad I kept the 34.I also got a Powerflex Eco in 34 and it fit almost as tight as the Solar 32 but do-able. I ordered a 36 in that one and it is also the most comfortable for me.My stats are 6'1, 160, and my waist actually measures around 35 which makes sense based on what I am keeping. But everything I typically buy is 32 -- jeans, underwear, shorts, etc. Maybe those are vanity sized.Note I only tried these on with clean briefs underneath as a courtesy knowing that something was bound to get returned.Very nice fabric. The fit is congruent with the size chart and feels nice and firm. This suit is very comfortable and makes lap swimming feel like wearing the bare minimum to keep your private parts in place and covered. The draw string prevents any fear of them coming off even when making turns. Lining is in the front and back and they are not see through.I knew they had a center seam before deciding on them. My preference is a seamless front. I gave 4 stars because the logo came off. A small thing, but it keeps others at the pool from thinking you’re just wearing a women’s bikini bottom. Speedo could do a better job with the logo with a better decal or embroidery.I swim weekly and had been switching between Speedo jammer shorts and the 3 inch swim briefs, both of which were creating too much drag in the water. I decided to try these 1 inch briefs out, and was really pleased. The cut is a bit "skimpy", but that's not really a concern for me. They're very supportive in the front region to help forego any wardrobe malfunctions, and had minimal drag in the water. I wear a 33 inch waist and purchased a size 36, which was a bit snug; as such, would recommend ordering several sizes up unless you're planning to use these for competitive racing purposes. The product fit me right out of the bag. The swimsuit is comfortable and I had not problems. The fabric feels soft and strong. It works.Am yet to wear , will save for best. Thanks!Perfect fit. Very comfortable and stretchy. I thought it wouldn't cover all of my butt but it does, and quite comfortably where it doesn't feel like it is pulling on my cheeks. I'm not exactly small down there either, it is supposed to feel tight. It will expand a bit after a few swims, which is why people feel it is too small when they first wear these and then complain that it lost its form. The sizing chart considers the expansion of the material. Just like cotton clothes are supposed to consider the shrinking of the material in their sizing charts. If there are wrinkles then you got a size too big. I feel like maybe I am ranting my point at this point, but please just order your size and don't listen to reviews saying otherwise. Pero me encantoThis is a great swimsuit for serious swimmers. I swim a about 300 to 400 lengths a week and this suit holds up well. It is very small on the sides at about 2 inches but this gives maximum freedom for active swimmers which I really like. I’m a 34 inch waste but with speedo I always by 36. The pouch is larger enough so that your testicles have enough room and are not held to close to the body which is a problem with other suits I’ve bought.
