I installed these sonic spikes about 2 months ago, near mid-May. By the end of May, I was fully convinced that this product was effective. I was also compelled to give this testimony to my neighbors, as they have the same issues with rabbits, groundhogs, chipmunks & squirrels (and deer in autumn). There was almost always something destructive in the backyard - rabbits and groundhogs ate my flowers, & many squirrels and chipmunks were always digging around. I’ve tried many things to get rid of the groundhogs and rabbits, but nothing worked reliably. I tried expensive urine-based spray repellents like Liquid Fence, moth balls, & have-a-heart traps. Nothing worked reliably or fixed the problem. Therefore, I was skeptical about these sonic spikes. However, within 1½ weeks, I was amazed and fully convinced of how well these spikes work. The groundhogs quickly abandoned their home. The chipmunks apparently did the same. I haven’t seen ANY chipmunks. I rarely see any squirrels, which used to be many. I rarely see any rabbits. Now the rare rabbit or squirrel that I see are outside of the 35 ft radius of the spikes. I’m simply amazed. Garden protected – mission accomplished.Be Kind - Notify Your NeighborsWarning: This product works, so warn your neighbors, because it affects them. The critters that leave your property will head for theirs, so let them know. It’s the right thing to do. They likely already have the same problem, & they’d want to know how to fix it. Besides, if your neighbors use this product, it will protect their properties, and it adds another barrier to protect your property. Imagine being surrounded by properties guarded by these spikes. In fact, two different neighbors have recently purchased these spikes.First Days & ResultsAnimals are often aware of earthquakes before they happen. This technology appears to use the animals’ ability to sense seismic disturbances, such as an imminent earthquake. These spikes act like an early warning system that tells critters to flee the area for their protection. It’s misleading & annoying to the critters, but it’s humane & effective. They simply go elsewhere. In the first few days after installation, the spikes seemed to actually attract critters, not repel them. They apparently were coming to investigate the sound. However, it makes them uneasy & they’ll no longer come back. Now several days in a row pass by without seeing any rabbits or squirrels. When I do, they’re always outside of the range (~35 ft) of the spikes. The rabbits can see the garden & the Asiatic lilies (which they love to eat), but now they avoid the garden and the area around it. The garden is undisturbed and growing. Before the spikes, they had begun eating this year’s lilies. After installing the spikes, they immediately and completely stopped eating the lilies, and this year yielded my most blooms ever by far. There is no fence around the garden. There is physically nothing keeping rabbits out, yet they won’t approach it. The only thing keeping the rabbits away is these spikes, and they really work.New CrittersPeriodically there may be new critters that venture into range of the sonic spikes for their first time. Each time, it’s temporary. They’ll realize that they shouldn’t be there, & they’ll leave. There have been many baby groundhogs in my neighborhood this year, so there has been a revolving door of new groundhogs wandering onto the property looking for a new home. They see an abandoned groundhog home, so they move in, only to move out again just a day or two later. They don’t like living there, and the spikes probably also make it hard for them to sleep. I will eventually fill in the holes, so others aren’t tempted to move in.SonicThis product claims to be ultrasonic, which we can’t hear, but there are also sonic signals, which we can hear. Once you are made aware of it, you’ll notice the tone. It’s not loud enough to be annoying. The effective range & the audible range appear to both approximate the advertised radius of 35 ft. There’s generally no need to set the spikes near the house. Take advantage of the 35 ft signal range, and place them away from the house. This also minimizes the sound heard at open windows. If you’re concerned about the sound being a distraction at an outside gathering, just turn off the spikes during the event, as each spike has a power switch.TestimonyFull disclosure, I am being compensated for my testimony. However, for the past 6 weeks, I have already been freely & eagerly giving this same testimony. I shared it with my neighbors, my siblings’ families, and anyone who would listen.
