I’m a fairly handy guy and I installed this on a 6x12 cargo trailer. I’ll give the Good, the Bad, and my opinion on the entire system. Please keep in mind that I’m a total solar newbie, so I anticipated and accepted set backs during the install since it was all new to me.Good: The order arrived on time, was well packaged and nothing came in damaged. All components were well labeled and individually packaged. There was more than enough wire in the kit to go from the panels to the controller and from the controller to the battery.Bad: Most of my criticism is with the controller. First off the included template to mount the controller isn’t the same size as the controller. Ordinarily this wouldn’t be a big problem, but, it mounts with 4 screws (which aren’t included) in keyhole slots, so without a good template it takes some measuring and messing around to get the screws in the right place. Now onto thecables, they fit in the hole, but it’s hit or miss when you tighten them that they are tight. By the way only 6AWG cables fit. After getting everything tight and right I turned to the instructions, which turned into a mistake. To say that the instructions were lacking is an understatement. There are 4 buttons, none of them are labeled, and they aren’t identified in the instructions. If you’re looking for a simple, straightforward explanation how to set it up, keep looking. There are lots of graphs and scientific information but as a solar novice none of them had much meaning to me.The bottom line: I wouldn’t recommend this for someone that, like me, is new to solar systems. The quality may be there, but without comprehensive instructions I found it very frustrating not knowing how to program the controller or if it’s even set up correctly. If I ever find out how to program it or find a better set of instructions I’ll post an update.
