Ordered 2 replacement pumps one stopped working completely its only been 4 months and it's already garbage... will look into another one.The end for the solor pump was different they said they don't have that solar panel. I changed the end.. Then I found out the now have a new end in the box now.I was unable to run electric from my home to my new pond so this was the perfect solution. The pump works well and when the sun is hitting the solar panel square on it really looks great. The only down fall is that it has a really hard time pumping when only part of the solar panel is in sun, I almost wish it had a battery back up. The other con is that the part of the pond I have the fountain in is only about 10 inches deep but with all of the extensions used it barely makes it above the water line. If you have a deeper pond I would recommend buying extra pump extensions to get the water flowing above the surface. This only worked sporadically and required sustained direct sunlight (won’t work in partial light, so don’t use it near trees/flowers/etc.) and after about two weeks (just long enough for the return window to close) it completely stopped working. The issue appears to be with the solar panel itself, as the pump is clean and clear of all debris. Overall, this was a huge waste of money and I regret buying it.*edit* The seller reached out after seeing my review and provided a replacement. This one was missing hardware, but I was able to use some of the pieces from the broken fountain to set up the new one. Just like the last one, this one ONLY works in direct sunlight. I will update if it stops working again.I needed a solar pump to use for filtering as I don’t have electricity nearby. This is a fountain but by buying additional parts and tubing the pump is in a filter box and I have a splitter running two tubes as a waterfall. Well, more like a dribble fall but I have a very small water feature. Yes, I had to buy parts I didn’t need or will use but cheaper than running electrical! I do wish there was the ability to attach another panel. However, it works, even if a bit overcast. Total clouds, it won’t but I was surprised how well it worked with even a little sun and the pump moves water better than expected. Longevity is yet to be determined.Works good just needs to be a better description on how each one differs from electric ones. They don't have near the suction or pumping power so you have to go up sizes to get the power you wantWeekly filter cleaning required. You'll need to remove 4 screws to remove cover to access the filter. Remove filter and rinse under faucet and your good another week. Solar panel requires full exposure to direct sunlight. It shouldn't be your only method to oxygenate your pond. Fountain is mainly for esthetic reasons. Been working for 3 weeks so far. This is an outstanding pump in all respects: It has a high lifting capacity, it moves a good volume of pond water, and - above all - it is very ruggedly designed. By accident, the return tube from the pump in our pond came loose from an upper basin and the pump emptied the all the pond water onto the ground. We last checked it a week before, and came back to top it up again when to our horror there was the pump running dry and noisily in the bottom of the empty pond, a situation that would burn up most small pumps like this. After I quickly fixed the loose hose and refilled the pond again, the pump worked normally, to my amazement. I have no idea how many days the pump ran without water - could have been several or could have happened that very day that I came to check on it. I highly recommend this pump and solar panel combo. 5 stars is not enough! At the beginning I said it a cute thing to have around in the garden. Easy to install. Put it in water and good to go. Only down side it that no sun= no fountain. For the price you would think that it could have some kind of battery to store solar power for the rainy days. After 2 months it’s not worth nothing. Water pump is no longer working. Tried to get another one but no. Many emails but still not resolved this issue. I see that other reviews mentionned that the water pump stopped working also but lucky them they got a new water pump.Don’t buy, no worth the money and trouble.Small compact works great
