Well the Doggie is sooooo CUTE , It's great as a night light , giftable definetely , they'll love it , oh its so sweet , assembly very easy , and the cost extremely reasonable ? Thank You Amazon for offering it ? ?Bought this for my sister and it was so cute that I bought one for myself. Take it out of the box and it's charged and will light up on the first night. This is an adorable garden ornament. The first thing I did was to reposition the solar cell at the back of the head from a vertical upright position (flush with the back of the head, it would have been facing the fence), bending it outward so that it is positioned at a 45 degree angle (see arrow in close-up pic). It is placed near an 8 foot fence, as shown in second pic (white oval, centered). Third pic shows the lights coming on around 6pm, twilight. Last pic (poor pic only shows the glow) shows lights still on at 6am. I was concerned that there was no light sensor to turn lights on/off depending on ambient light, since this is not mentioned in the description. Apparently there is a light sensor. You can see from the shadows in the daytime pic that the sensor is getting near direct sunlight for part of the day - this is the winter sun position. A more overhead sun in the summer might get less light, but I'm sure it will be acceptable, even if it doesn't last all night. Great product at this price. We love our odd chicken and call him Mulder, since he is "Spooky" as he watches our house all night long. Addendum: I should have mentioned that even from inside the house, you can distinctly see two little eyeballs shining back, in spite of the poor photo showing only a single glow. This was a gift for our garden because the wifey loves LadyBugs. THIS IS CUTE AND SO COOLThe chicken is unstable standing up. It wants to tip over. I still like it.So very cute!It is as described and cuter! Springs are built in above and below the body just right to give it "life" and bounce, tap the head and it looks like it's chuckling. Lights charged easily in window inside and are bright. Concerned about it falling over easily outside as there is no way to stake it in the ground.Super cute with bright eyes and movement. He is top heavy and wind will knock him out. Needs heavier feet , or maybe rocks on them would weigh him down
