I ordered one set of these and liked them so much that I ordered a second set after Christmas! They do take a LOT of batteries (3 AAA per ornament, so nine total) BUT they last. I have a similar set that uses 2 AA batteries, and they barely last two weeks, so I don't use them at all. But these do last--perhaps because they have a relatively short "on" time and don't blink or twinkle, but that's okay because we have other outdoor lights that do all that, and it's good to have some that are steady. They were still going strong at the New Year, so out of curiosity, I moved them inside to see how long they batteries lasted, and they definitely last at least a month.I love that you just turn them on and don't have to fiddle with setting the timer, it's automatic, and they stay on for six hours, which is plenty really, then turn themselves off. Very low maintenance, which is good because we all have so much going on over the holidays that the last thing anyone wants is to go around turning on and off individual lights. The only downside is that the suction cups don't work. This was fine with me since I have a wreath in the window, so I attached one to the wreath so it hung down in the center. You can see the wreath during the day, and the lovely star lights up at night. Perfect! Then I hung the other two from the window locks (just wrapped the cord around and then set the battery box thing on the window ledge itself. That kept them up and in place the entire season. Perfect!I suppose you could also use suction hooks to hang them (I use one to hang the wreath, and it holds great), but these ones, not so much. Still, if you experiment you can find a way to hang them in your window, maybe draped over the curtain rod, they hang down about eight inches, so that would work. I love the Khdrvok Heavy Duty Vacuum Wreath Cup Hooks; they work great. I've had the one on our front door for over six months, and it's still working great. I keep a welcome wreath on it most of the year and then trade out for a Christmas wreath, which is slightly heavier, and it is still going strong.Anyway back to these cute decorations, they don't look like much out of the box, kind of cheap clear plastic that can't really be seen from a distance during the day (yay!), but at night, they are just lovely from the driveway/road. And that's really all you want. Or at least all I want! Heh. As far as price point, I would definitely not pay more than say $15 for them, not worth it once you add in the battery cost and all. But at $9.99 as they are as I write this, totally worth every penny!
