Update: This old cover lasted exactly three years until the bubbles started coming off. I clicked on purchase again and the new one that arrived is NOT the same as the last one. You can see from the photo that the bubbles are half the size and the plastic itself is not as thick. It's too much of a pain to return something like this, so I'm going to live with it. Fingers crossed it lasts at least 3 years like the last one. This new one was also $110 more than the one I bought in 2019.We've now been using it 24/7 for just over a year and it's still in really great condition and working well. It noticeably helps to retain the heat and warm it as much as 5 degrees. We are in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles and if we have lots of 90 - 100+ degree days, with the cover on 24/7, our water will hover around 90, which we love. Our pool is 35' x 15'. A neighbors tree drops leaves and things all year long so It has also helped keep our pool dramatically cleaner. In addition, it helps minimize evaporation, so we have to fill our pool a bit less. It was also easy to trim to size. Remember to cut it at least approx. 6 inches longer and wider than your pool so it overlaps the edges some. That way debris that accumulates on top has a harder time getting in the water. Very, very happy with this cover. We also bought this reel for it. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CL2HN14/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It makes life much more easy to take the cover on and off. It can be used by one person, but two makes it just a tad quicker and easier. It is exacta s described. Looks good on the pool!Used on an above ground Intex 32x15x52 pool. Only had to trim it slightly to get a perfect fit. This thing is fantastic! Warmed the water 10-15 degrees in the first few days it was on-amazing! We live in an area that has long cold winters so we end up filling the pool mid June & by the end of August it goes down. It held the heat overnight and each sunny day it kept increasing temps. The water maintained approx 85-87 degrees (some days higher!) until mid Aug. That said, even when it got cooler outside it was still hovering around 80 which is still comfortable. This was our first time owning a solar cover & we will never go without one again. We have had pools for a decade too-what were we thinking! This is a high quality cover & we had zero issues with it in the 3 mo. it was used and have no worries about it not working come next summer. Also want to add that the shipping was fast w/Prime! Had we not been Prime members it would have cost as much for the membership as it would to pay for shipping-it's heavy and comes in a huge box! Most pool covers are horrible. This one is better than most. You probably don't know that pool covers used to be thick and durable. But over the past 25 years, manufacturers have been making them thinner. And thinner. And thinner. These days, most pool covers are thin and wimpy. They might hold up for a few years so long as your keep them in a cool, dark room away from water. However, if you use them outdoors, or expose them to water or sunlight, they'll dry up and turn brittle within a year or two.So for those of you who have your pool outdoors in the sunlight, you'll need a pool cover that's better than average. This one is. It's thick enough that you can tug on it without having pieces rip off in your hand.I ordered a Harris 16 MIL 32' x 16'. The first cover lasted a season. The replacement cover lasted for 4 weeks before it started shredding see pictures. The quality of the covers has gone downhill. The replacement felt like bubble wrap. I just bought one from Leslie's that is way thicker. Hopefully it holds up.Just went to pull mine out for this spring that I bought in the spring of 2016 (It's spring of 2019 now). Running your hands across it and the bubbles just flake off. So it's not going on the pool but into the trash. The bubbles started flaking at the end of last season but really fell apart in storage over the winter. This kind of failure is not covered by warranty so don't believe the 8-year warranty nonsense. But yes, it did warm up the pool quite nicely. It's pretty heavy and unwieldy as you would probably expect, not really a defect, just an observation. I'll be trying a different brand next time.Bubbles are barely inflated, much less than similar blanked that I replaced. They won't pop if I stomp on it. Is this good? The blanket floats on top of the pool so perhaps this is not a problem. My biggest headache was that the warehouse first sent me a winter blanket, not the solar blanket that I ordered. We did manage to send it back and a week later I got the product I ordered, but it took a few phone calls to get this to happen quickly. Meanwhile, my pool was getting cold.We bought this in May 2017 and used it for 3 seasons. It started coming apart at the end of the 2019 season. We switched to saltwater between the second and third seasons. It was easy to trim to fit. We weren't particularly careful with it when it was off the pool--we just pulled it off by hand, sort of folded it up and left it on the concrete. It warmed up the pool 5-10 degrees and did help keep the water from evaporating as much.
