The desciption is entirely proper as an "SAE to PV" Extension. I bought it to instead convert as "PV to SAE". At first I simply taped the red lead end with black tape and the black lead end with red tape to correctly indicate my usage polarities and avoid any default connector confusion. Given the package supplies replacement MC-4 connectors I cut off original MC-4 polarities and reconfigured the factory cable into my desired "MC-4 to SAE" cable. Works great given the excellent wire core and reconfiguration MC-4 connectors. It would be easy to be lead astray by the wiring colors achieving all polarity and wiring solutions, it simply cannot. Observe what is connecting to what, and how, don't get mislead by default wiring colors and connectors - pay attention and configure the cable correctly for your application. I use SAE wires predominantly for their ease of use and resistance of debris. MC-4's have their defintive edge in a consistent usage environment. SAE's have their edge with dynamic placement and connectivty advantages. I give the cable 5-stars despite lack for Newbie instruction, its a solid product with ability to adjust polarity needs. Just pay attention to your usage and don't assume polarity is a fixed given for your connection situation.
