Although probably useless for most people now except for those looking forward to the Mercury transit of 2019, or the eclipse of 2024, 2044, or 2045, these did work well. In spite of Amazon's warning, I confirmed with Thousand Oaks optical and these were safe. The filter media was the same as my solar filter for my camera, and neither my camera nor I had any ill-effects. Sunspots were visible with the naked eye for those with great vision. If you want to view sunspots, the Mercury transit, or want to stock up for the 3 upcoming eclipses years/decades from now, I'd definitely recommend.*note* Photo was through a Thousand Oaks Optical 95mm solar filter, not the glasses. Same filter film media, however. During the eclipse, it looked the same brightness.
