Definitely recommending this to anyone who needs lighting when they're walk/hiking/running. I run before 60 to 90 mins before daybreak and can tell you that at the brightest setting, this will last 90 minutes. I am not sure how much longer beyond that as I turn it off at daybreak. The beam is bright enough for me to see a few feet away at the pace (8:45 to 9:15 min/mile) I'm going and take the necessary precautions for uneven surfaces or obstructions. I do not load anything on the fanny pack portion as I also have a hydration vest where I keep my phone. This is comfortable on the waist and have not had any undue skin rubbing issues even after 13 miles of running. This is much better than the head-type lamps because when it's darker, bugs get attracted to light and when the light is at face level, I end up swallowing more of the bugs (mouth breathing) or them getting stuck on my face and neck sweat. At the waist area, none of those 2 issues comes up. The downside with the hip level is that the rear red blinker may not be as visible - but because I do have the hydration back pack, I have another set of blinkers there. I hope this review helps you.
