I bought these to take on a cruise that I took right after Thanksgiving. I also got a festive wall hanging. The wall hanging is very thin and weighs almost nothing. I picked up some Neodymium magnets to hold it all on the wall. Most cruise ships have metal walls that are magnetic. It made a very festive display in my room and I was quite happy with it. There’s no remote or any way to change the timer settings, but I would turn it on at sunset and then for the rest of the cruise it turned on at sunset and turned off sometime after midnight. I was on a 10 day cruise and the batteries lasted about seven. I hung the control box from a small magnetic hook and just tucked it behind the tapestry. It didn’t really show up that way. I bought these for Cruse, but I could see using them in a lot of other different ways. I was surprised that the batteries didn’t last longer with them being LED lights, but there are a lot of them and they are pretty bright. I wish that they made one of these with an option to change the light intensity. In a dark room, they were pretty bright, and if I could’ve turned them down, it would’ve made the batteries last longer. But still, for the price, I was quite happy with them.
