Just what I expected. I am using these as a decorative feature next to our hot tub. I just completed the stringers at the top of the privacy fence and the shipment arrived (a day early). I charged up the battery with the usb connector and it was fully charged in about 4 hours. I like not having to run 110V to the lights and I will set up the solar panel on top of the privacy fence. The lights are not yet in their final position, I just ran them across the top to get an overall impression. I used plastic ties to attach the lights to the privacy fence.We tend to use the hot tub in the evening after dark so that's when they will be on. The photo is taken facing South so getting photons will not be a problem after we mount the small solar panel.I had a problem removing the cover for the usb charging port on the solar panel. All it says in the instructions is: "Uncover the micro USB charging port on the side of the panel" (They should add: with the tab provided on one end of the USB port cover).When I lifted the cover it came off completely and I had to use one of my tools (see photo) to get the rubber cover anchor/retainer back in its hole. If you had to, you could just cut the rubber anchor off altogether because the cover is a press fit and you would still have the tab to remove the cover. Of course you would have to try and not lose the cover after that.the perfect fit to our balcony! the pre clipped lights made it so easy to hang. theres also a USB option to charge the lights in case you dont get enough sun where you want to hang them! the lights are very bright too. love love love overall! not one bad thing to say!These solar lights are super easy to hang up and make a nice accent or night light. They are not very bright (1 watt each bulb I believe) so don’t expect these to really illuminate an area. Think of them more like Christmas lights - decorative. They have a nice warm amber glow and stay lit for a number of hours each night. I highly recommend using some thin rope or wire to hang these from if the strand will span an open area. The strand worked right out of the box but I did have to screw in a couple of bulbs a little tighter for those to come on. Probably got loose in shipping. Hopefully these will work for a number of years!Great product, I have purchased 5 of these. Love them!!We have 2 sets of these solar lights and could not be happier with them. One set we use camping and get lots of compliments on them. The other set we use at the back gate entrance to our yard where it is pretty dark at night but the entrance is used a lot. They have held up in heavy rain and weather and continue to work great! Highly recommend!they are so bright love them , look like glass bulbs .Bright long lasting great quality..I love these lights thanksThese are cute solar lights. Below are both pros and cons that I found (in no particular order).-The solar panel is huge (larger than I've seen with any of my other numerous solar outdoor lights).You'll need to accommodate an appropriate spot for it because of such. The cable is also very thin. If you have squirrels, mice or other outdoor backyard visitors that like to chew, use a pool noodle or something to protect the cable that runs from the solar panel to the first light if it's going to drag.-The lights are small and plastic. I like the shatterproof feature, but I would imagine over time the clear plastic will become etched and dirty and won't be as clear. I'm hoping I'm wrong.-The lights emit a cool white which I'm not a fan of. I really like warm white lighting, particularly on the patio. Next to my other outdoor solar lights, these look like bright-white little christmas lights, and they don't dim. The product photo on Amazon is incorrect. The lights are not yellow or warm in any sense of the word.-I like the hooks that are attached to each light as it makes it easy for attaching to my chainlink fence.-I found that this string of lights had more lights than most brands. LIghts are approx 12" apart, compared to some brands that are 3ft apart. With that being said, they are small lights and other brands have larger lights and perhaps why they are further apart.-I did the first charge using the USB port. Once charged, the solar panel emits a green light behind the panel to indicate that it's charged.-I dislike that there is no remote AND the only sane setting is "steady" (no blinking). All of the other settings blink enough to give you a seizure, they make no sense, who would like those? The only setting outdoor patio lights should have in my opinion is steady; fade-in and fade-out; and twinkle. These lights don't offer the last two.-I also dislike that for some reason, these manufacturers make the On/Off switch and the "Mode" switch black identical rubber buttons. Not only can you not see the label in the dark because the label is black on black, they are rubber buttons. You have no idea if it's enabled or not. Pushing it doesn't lock it in place. It's literally a toggle button. I spent a few nights first trying to figure out which push of the on/off was actually "on", then trying to get the mode setting to not look like Las Vegas or a disco. I'm sure my neighbours had a good laugh.Love them. Charge them with USB for the first charge. Otherwise they wouldn’t come on for me. But once they did, they are exactly what I wanted. Love this purchase.Nice looking bulbs. Two different descriptions of the cable length. No remote control. No explanation on how the lights come on & go off automatically. Really like the fact that the lights can be charged via USB (this is the UK!) Poor explanation on how you can join two sets of lights. Having read reviews after buying two sets concerned about how long they will last.Took me a year to get around to putting these up. There is a missing bulb I missed and two of them don't work. So by the time you hang them up and test them out you realize it looks awful with gaps. Other reviews mention the same. It's a shame because the controller and battery does seem quite good. But the actual bulb chain is very poor.
